The nickel problem — why material matters
Why we use implant-grade G23 titanium
With roughly 1 in 9 people sensitive to nickel — and many earrings still releasing it — material is the single biggest safety lever for a new or healing piercing. Implant-grade titanium (ASTM F-136) contains no free nickel, making it the safer standard for sensitive ears and fresh channels.
